DESCRIPTION:I have up for auction a 8hp Briggs & Stratton Magnetron engine I removed from a seldom used generator a while back. The engine did run very good and started with out any issues. The engine was only used for a few occasions when camping and has been sitting in dry storage ever since it stopped working. The engine was removed due to the generator not working, the cost of the parts it needed to repair the generator itself were more than a new generator, so we decided to part it out.This engine has a “TAPERED SHAFT” There is no key way in the crankshaft which is commonly found on go kart engines and other horizontal engines. This crankshaft will need to be machined for a key or swapped out if using on something that needs a key way. Please see picture #9 to view what the tapered shaft looks like.I sold this engine on ebay a few months ago, the engine despite the thick box and substantial packaging used, it was still damaged by UPS when it arrived to the destination, the box looked like they dropped it out of the truck from a good height every time they off loaded it and then tossed it out of the truck onto a highway at high speeds before it’s delivery. There is no excuse and was no reason why any package should look the way this did upon delivery. The item was returned to me and it was inspected for the damages. The following is the extent of the damage.The aluminum intake pipe has a crack, you may be able to have it welded or may be cheaper to find one locally. The front cover which holds the pull start rope is dented in, I removed the cover and inspected the pull start mechanism and it is still in good condition and still works, just the front cover that holds the pull start needs to be replaced. I did try to get the cover straight but it still binds up and will not pull the rope back in once pulled.The air cleaner has a few dents in it, I straightened the air cleaner and it only needs minimal work to get it finished.Overall this is a good engine that will run once these issues are corrected. This engine is still in it’s original condition and has never been rebuilt or tampered with. Despite the damages, you should be able to put this back together reasonably cheap.QUESTIONS:If you have any questions feel free to ask using the “ask seller a question” link, I will respond within 24hrs.SHIPPING:I have been using USPS Parcel post and Greyhound package Express for my larger packages have not had any issues.
